SemCAMS' Wapiti Gas Plant is a gas processing facility capable of handling up to 200 million cubic feet per day of sour gas. The plant was licensed by the Alberta Energy Regulator in August 2016 and will begin construction in 2017. The plant is expected to be fully online by the second quarter of 2019. The proposed plant will utilize SemCAMS' existing Wapiti/Simonette pipeline systems and the Kaybob K3 Sour Gas Plant to process approximately 350 tonnes per day of sulphur. This capability, which is unique to SemCAMS, provides a reliable long-term egress option for hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide and the associated sulphur.
